The Seville-based club confirmed this Thursday the extension of the contractual link with the 21-year-old Granada-born footballer for an additional three seasons. This decision comes after a campaign in which Sierra has managed to establish himself and make his debut with the first team, a significant milestone given that his original contract was set to expire at the end of the current season.
The Sevillian entity continues its strategy of investing in academy talent, ensuring the development of promising young players. Miguel Sierra thus joins other youth players like Nico Guillén and Edu Altozano, who have also signed renewals until 2029. As reported, the release clause for all three players amounts to €20 million, underscoring the club's confidence in their potential.
Sierra arrived at Sevilla in the summer of 2024, coming from Real Avilés, a club he had previously joined from Granada's youth academy. During his first season in Seville, the midfielder was part of Sevilla Atlético, where he played 30 matches in Primera RFEF, scoring one goal and providing six assists, already demonstrating his ability to influence the game.
In the 2025-2026 season, the player made the leap to Sevilla's first team, participating in five official matches. His debut in LaLiga occurred in the derby against Betis, a significant moment for any academy player. He also played against Oviedo, Celta de Vigo, and Elche, and participated in the Copa del Rey against Alavés. His performance against Elche was notable, as he earned a penalty that Akor Adams converted to secure a point at the Martínez Valero. Additionally, Sierra was called up for the first team on seven other occasions.
In parallel with his first-team involvement, the Granada-born footballer has continued to alternate with the reserve team this season, accumulating more playing minutes. With Sevilla Atlético, he has played 18 matches, contributing one goal and two assists, showcasing his versatility and continuous development across both categories.
