Seville City Council has initiated the contracting process for a mural and graffiti program that will transform 640 square meters of public spaces in 2026 and 2027.

The initiative, with an investment of 38,720 euros (VAT included), aims not only to beautify the city but also to offer children and young people constructive leisure alternatives through visual art. The creation of approximately 32 works, each around 20 m², is planned, adapted to the selected locations.
The project will be developed in two phases: 12 murals (240 m²) will be painted in the last quarter of 2026, and the remaining 20 (400 m²) will be completed in 2027. The contract will be valid for one year, from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.

"The artworks must didactically depict the five fundamental rights of childhood: the right to be a child, the right to be heard, the right to be valued, the right to live in safe environments, and the right to essential services."

Seville City Council · Technical specifications of the contract
The mural themes will focus on the pillars of Seville's III Municipal Plan for Children and Adolescents, also addressing healthy leisure and free time. A distinctive feature is the active participation of at least 40 children or young people per intervention, who, guided by graffiti specialists, will learn the technique and feel involved in the transformation of their environment.
Artists must have accredited experience and a negative certification from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders. The use of environmentally friendly and safe materials for participants will be prioritized, reaffirming Seville's commitment to youth and childhood policies and the right of minors to be heard.
