Among the most notable recognitions, painter Luis Gordillo and bullfighter Morante de la Puebla have been named Favorite Sons of the Andalusian capital. These awards aim to highlight the career and commitment of those who have enriched the city with their work and dedication.
In addition to the Favorite Sons and Daughters, 30 City Medals of Seville have been awarded, including a posthumous recognition for Pepe da Rosa. These awards cover various categories, from professional career and economic drive to the promotion of art, culture, traditions, social work, science, and sports.
“"These appointments seek to recognize the trajectory and commitment of these illustrious Sevillians."
The list of honorees includes relevant figures in the business sector such as Insur Inmobiliaria del Sur and Agro Sevilla, as well as cultural and social entities like the Banda de Cornetas y Tambores Nuestra Señora del Sol and the Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid (CEAR). Emblematic spaces of Sevillian memory such as Casa Palacios and Bar Blanco Cerrillo have also been recognized.
The awards ceremony is part of an annual tradition that celebrates the spirit and identity of Seville, recognizing those who, from different fields, contribute to its progress and prestige.
