The Avenida de Andalucía in Sevilla will undergo a significant pavement renovation. The affected section spans from the Sergio Rodríguez Prata roundabout to Parque Amate street. The objective is to enhance the quality and safety of this road, which has not received comprehensive maintenance since 2001.
The total investment for these works amounts to 538,668.37 euros. The current surface exhibits cracks and deterioration caused by aging materials and water damage, necessitating this intervention.
As explained by the Urban Planning delegate, Juan de la Rosa, the avenue, considered a key entry route to the city, had gone 25 years without comprehensive pavement work. The intervention aims to restore the necessary quality and safety for residents and the thousands of vehicles that use it daily.
The works will include the installation of horizontal signage, both temporary and permanent. Furthermore, architectural barriers at pedestrian crossings, garage access points, and bike lanes will be removed, as the new wearing course will raise the road's level by approximately three centimeters.
The delegate emphasized that this project aligns with the council's commitment to road maintenance, contributing to an improved quality of life for Sevillians and reducing the environmental impact of public works.
This project complements ongoing works on the Ronda del Tamarguillo, where the City Council is investing 350,000 euros to renovate the pavement between Hytasa and San Juan de la Cruz. These efforts are part of a total investment of 2.2 million euros dedicated to the complete renewal of this vital avenue in Sevilla.
