Workers have started to erect the first metallic skeletons of these ephemeral structures, marking the beginning of preparations for one of the most significant festivities in the Andalusian capital. This early setup highlights the logistical complexity inherent in Seville's major celebrations.
The Corpus Christi 2026 edition will feature a notable innovation: the carving of San Isaías will exceptionally preside over an altar along the procession route. This initiative, authorized by the Delegation of Legal Affairs, responds to a request from the Hermandad de Montserrat as part of its 425th foundational anniversary.
The logistics for this event are already defined. The image of San Isaías will be transferred on Tuesday, June 2, to the altar that the brotherhood decides to install on the route of the Blessed Sacrament, returning to its headquarters on Thursday, June 4, after the main events conclude.
The inclusion of this altar enriches the devotional adornment of the city center's streets, joining other established presences on this day, such as the Hiniesta Gloriosa in front of the City Hall or the image of Santa Teresa from the Santo Ángel convent, which has been definitively integrated into Sevillian tradition.
