The intervention, managed through the Urban Planning and Environment Department, has resulted in 75% of the city's streetlights now operating with LED technology. This rollout involved replacing obsolete discharge systems with high-efficiency devices, which provide a 3,000 Kelvin color temperature to improve visibility and visual comfort on the streets.
In addition to the average 66% energy saving achieved, the plan included enhancing electrical safety by installing underground equipotential networks and upgrading control centers. Furthermore, approximately 350 old supports were replaced with more resistant galvanized structures.
“"In these three years, we have taken a decisive step towards a more efficient and safer city, renewing practically four out of every ten public lighting luminaires."
The project, which is still ongoing, aims to complete the total modernization of Sevilla's lighting network. According to municipal sources, these actions not only reduce electricity consumption but also strengthen road and pedestrian safety across all city neighborhoods.
