Between Thursday and Friday, Seville's iconic Plaza de la Real Maestranza was transformed into a classroom for students, who took part in highly successful educational sessions. The initiative, driven by the company Lances de Futuro, allowed young people to interact with key elements of bullfighting, such as capes and muletas, and even mount the picador horses from the Peña stable.
The Friday session also featured the notable presence of bullfighters Juan Ortega and Cayetano Rivera Ordóñez, who shared their expertise with the attendees. Seville businessman José María Garzón accompanied the children during these two days, which aimed to bring the world of bullfighting and its values closer to young people through practical and formative activities. These were led by matador Eduardo Dávila Miura and the team from the Club de Aficionados Prácticos.
Participants enjoyed mock bullfighting workshops, learned about the different stages of bullfighting, handled capes and muletas, mounted picador horses, and explored the culture and values of Tauromachy in the unique setting of the Maestranza bullring. They also had the chance to visit various areas of the bullring.
“"The atmosphere experienced during these two days has once again highlighted the interest of young people in this type of activity, in a proposal that combines training, tradition, and direct experience."
The manager of Lances de Futuro emphasized the beauty of seeing the Seville bullring filled with schoolchildren and university students, noting that these young people had the opportunity to experience mock bullfighting firsthand and connect with the values of Tauromachy. Through these actions, Lances de Futuro reinforces its commitment to disseminating bullfighting culture and promoting its values, aiming to bring this tradition to new generations and foster its understanding.
