Shattered glass on an Avant train window after an impact with an animal.
An Avant train heading to Seville experienced an alarming incident this Monday morning when the windows of one of its carriages shattered after an impact with an animal near Posadas.
Passengers departing from Córdoba bound for Seville on the 7:50 AM train this Monday experienced tense moments. Near the municipality of Posadas, a strong impact occurred in the penultimate carriage, causing the windows to break.
“
"The train did not stop and continued as normal until it reached Santa Justa station. No one gave us explanations. We called Renfe to report the incident, but they did not attend to us until we arrived at Santa Justa, where they told us to contact Adif."
Following the event, passengers from the affected carriage were relocated to another, as the train was only at 50% occupancy. Travelers expressed their discomfort due to the lack of information and attention during the journey from Posadas to Seville.
Upon arrival at Santa Justa station, some passengers inspected the underside of the train's front, noticing a "significant dent" which, they believed, could indicate a collision with something on the track or an animal, although no blood was visible.
Renfe, when questioned, confirmed that the incident occurred on the 6:58 AM Avant train covering the Antequera-Seville route. They explained that the train struck an animal near Posadas, causing the windows to "splinter" due to the impact.

"At no time did the incident pose a risk to passengers. The train was able to complete its journey normally to its destination. The collision did not cause any delay in arrival in Seville."
