Passengers on an Alvia train traveling between Madrid and Málaga experienced considerable delays on Friday afternoon due to a 'public order disturbance'. According to eyewitnesses, one passenger assaulted a woman, necessitating the intervention of the National Police to resolve the situation and remove the individual.
Renfe informed affected travelers via messages that the train was stopped in Córdoba awaiting security forces. Passengers were advised to notify onboard staff if they had onward connections.
This incident adds to ongoing issues with cable theft on the high-speed line between Madrid and Andalusia. The Infrastructure Administrator (Adif) also reported similar problems near Toledo, disrupting the service of several trains.
Adif later announced that the incident in Córdoba had been resolved and that the high-speed train services connecting Madrid with Andalusia were gradually returning to normal.
