The General Council of Brotherhoods and Guilds has unveiled the image that will announce the Seville Eucharistic 2026, an artistic piece combining historical elements and profound religious symbolism. The work, created by a painter from Cádiz, was presented at the Chapel of Santa María de Jesús, in an event that brought together various figures from the brotherhood community.
The poster focuses on the Eucharist, represented by a gilded silver monstrance with a halo of precious stones around the viril, belonging to the Sacramental of San Lorenzo (Soledad). This piece, crafted in 1800, is believed to be of colonial Peruvian origin and was donated to the brotherhood. Before the Blessed Sacrament, two acolytes from the Sacramental Brotherhood of the Sagrario appear kneeling in adoration, on a red carpet adorned with flower petals.
“"He is a true painter, in the traditional style of other centuries, who paints without tricks, without AI, and without decals."
The composition of the painting is structured on a geometric base, with a superposition of rectangles and circles that harmoniously distribute the elements. The scene is framed by an ornate border resembling a parchment, evoking ancient worship convocations and Eucharistic engravings by artists such as Valdés Leal and his son Lucas Valdés. The background of the poster, with blue and ochre tones, symbolizes both the internal Eucharistic worship in churches and the external processions, with a clear reference to Sevillian spring.
The words “Sevilla” and “Eucarística 2026” are presented in red, symbolizing sacramental worship, but with different typographies to reflect the enduring nature of devotion over time. This representation seeks to unite the past, present, and eternity of Eucharistic Seville, presided over by the Blessed Sacrament.
