The candidate for Por Andalucía has acknowledged the "loyalty" and "accompaniment" of the seven political formations that make up the coalition, including Sumar and Podemos. He described as "anecdotal" the fact that he had not coincided in campaign events with the national leaders of the purple party, the general secretary and the MEP, who have participated in events alongside the candidate for Jaén.
“"The great news is that everyone is fighting for the same thing, for a unitary project that obeys the popular mandate for unity."
During the campaign, several Sumar ministers are expected to visit the community, such as the Minister of Youth and Childhood, the Minister of Culture, and the Minister of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and Agenda 2030. The Por Andalucía candidate is scheduled to participate in public events with the Minister of Social Rights on May 13 in Málaga and with the Minister of Youth and Childhood on May 14 in Córdoba.
Furthermore, the Por Andalucía candidate held a working meeting with rectors of Andalusian public universities to address the financial situation of the university system and propose measures to strengthen public higher education in Andalusia. The rectors of the Pablo de Olavide University, the University of Córdoba, the University of Huelva, and the University of Cádiz participated in the meeting.
In this context, the candidate criticized the regional government's management for "deliberately weakening public universities to favor the business of private universities." He argued that higher education is a fundamental right and a key tool for equal opportunities and the modernization of the Andalusian productive model.
The candidate has pledged to repeal the current Andalusian university law, deemed insufficient, and to establish a new funding agreement that guarantees stable resources and eliminates accumulated debt. He also proposed tightening the conditions for the creation of new private universities, raising quality and transparency requirements.
