The campaign's starting gun was fired in Sevilla, where the presidential candidate, Antonio Maíllo, participated in an informative breakfast. The inaugural day concluded with an event at the Alameda de Hércules, featuring speeches from the coordinator of IU Sevilla and the mayor of Fuentes de Andalucía, among others.
The candidacy has designed a schedule that will cover all eight Andalusian provinces, with a special focus on crucial issues such as public healthcare, access to housing, job creation, and the defense of public services. According to the organization, this strategy aims for "a journey through people's real problems," continuing the "one-on-one" initiative launched weeks prior.
“"It is a journey through people's real problems."
Throughout the two-week campaign, the party will receive support from four ministers and various leaders from Izquierda Unida and Sumar. Among the notable events, the second vice president and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, will join Maíllo in Málaga on May 1st to participate in the International Workers' Day demonstration. The general secretary of the Communist Party and the coordinator of Movimiento Sumar are also expected to attend.
The campaign agenda includes televised debates and visits to cities such as Granada, Córdoba, and Huelva. On Monday, May 4th, Maíllo is scheduled to participate in the RTVE Andalucía debate. The coalition has promised a "street-heavy" campaign, seeking direct contact with citizens to hear their problems firsthand.
The final stretch of the campaign will take candidates to Jaén and Almería, with a second electoral debate organized by Canal Sur on Monday, May 11th. The campaign closing event is scheduled for Friday, May 15th in Sevilla, two days before election day.
