The young talent from Huelva, Nico Guillén, has not been selected for the U-19 European Championship set to take place in Wales from June 28 to July 11. After being included in the preliminary 26-player squad for the tournament preparation, he has ultimately been left out of the final roster by Paco Gallardo.
This decision opens up an opportunity for Guillén to begin pre-season training with the Sevilla FC first team from the outset. The first team's training is scheduled to commence on July 3, with medical examinations on July 4 and 5, and the first on-field session on July 6.
The academy player, whose contract was recently extended until 2029 with a €20 million release clause, will participate in his second pre-season with the senior squad. Last season, he made his debut for the first team, scoring a goal against Birmingham. This will be his first pre-season under the guidance of Luis García Plaza, who has expressed his confidence in the player.
The club's plan is for the player to complete the pre-season, after which his future will be decided. Options include joining the first-team squad, continuing with Sevilla Atlético in Segunda Federación, or potentially going out on loan. The player has stated his ambition to succeed at Sevilla and will abide by the club's final decision.
