Content creator Gaspar Prim Díaz, popularly known as Gaspi, lost his life this Sunday at the age of 23 following the collision of two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro. The young man, one of the most prominent figures in Argentine streaming, gained significant recognition for his humorous audiovisual productions, some of which were irreverent enough to be disabled by the platform.
His popularity was significantly boosted by his participation in 'La Velada del Año 5', the amateur boxing event organized by Ibai Llanos and held in Sevilla in July 2025. The event gathered nearly 80,000 spectators at the Estadio de La Cartuja.
The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro has confirmed that six people died as a result of the mid-air collision that occurred on Sunday morning in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood. Among the victims was also singer Oliver Tree, 32, known for hits like 'Life Goes On' and 'Miss You'. Tree had recently performed a concert in São Paulo and was preparing to begin the European leg of his tour.
The accident resulted in one of the helicopters crashing onto a private parking lot, causing a fire that affected approximately 20 electric vehicles. The second aircraft crashed a short distance from the initial impact point. Emergency services worked to control the flames, and investigators are in the process of definitively identifying all victims.
The incident has generated profound shock within the Spanish-speaking community, especially following Gaspi's recent participation in one of the year's most significant digital events: 'La Velada del Año 5'. This event, held at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Sevilla, brought together around 80,000 attendees and millions of viewers on the Twitch platform, establishing itself as a major online entertainment phenomenon.
During the event, Gaspi faced creator Perxitaa in the ring in one of the scheduled bouts. The fight concluded with Perxitaa's victory by technical KO, marking one of the night's highlights. This international participation further solidified Gaspi's presence on the global content creator stage.
The news of his death has triggered a wave of reactions on social media. Numerous professional colleagues, including Ibai Llanos, ElRubius, and AuronPlay, have expressed their sadness and shared farewell messages, joining thousands of followers who have remembered the young streamer's career.
