Iryo, recognized as the leading private high-speed operator in Spain by frequency, has resumed its commercial operations on the Madrid-Málaga line. This reactivation coincides with the official infrastructure reopening date announced by Adif, allowing the company to progressively restore its regular schedule on one of the country's most in-demand railway corridors.
The commercial offering restarts with up to ten daily frequencies, distributed in five services per direction. This schedule includes the recovery of transversal services between Barcelona and Málaga, with two daily circulations (one outbound and one return). From May 1st, operations will proceed according to the ordinary timetable, which can now be consulted through the usual sales channels and on the company's website.
“"Iryo's reincorporation into the route means recovering a mobility alternative based on flexibility and quality, distinctive values of the operator since its entry into the Spanish market."
Since its launch, Iryo has transported over 23 million passengers up to April 2025 and completed more than 51,000 operations. The company maintains a significant market share, between 23% and 28%, on key railway corridors such as Madrid-Barcelona, Madrid-Valencia, Madrid-Seville, and Madrid-Málaga, solidifying its position in the Spanish market.
Iryo's fares are designed to meet diverse traveler needs, always including hand and cabin luggage. The Initial Fare is the most competitive option, while the Initial Superior Fare offers greater flexibility with free same-day schedule changes. For a more comprehensive experience, the Infinita Fare includes XL seats and large luggage, and the Infinita Bistró Fare provides in-seat menus and the most advantageous refund conditions.
