The Carolina Marín Pavilion in Huelva will host the fourth edition of the Western Andalusia Fencing Open Tournament this Saturday, April 25, bringing together 90 fencers from across the autonomous community.

The competition, focused on the team épée modality, will feature athletes from Málaga, Cádiz, Seville, Córdoba, and Huelva, establishing itself as a significant event within the circuit of the Andalusian Fencing Federation (FADE).

"Huelva becomes this weekend the Andalusian capital of this sport, hosting a highly anticipated tournament that highlights the great work carried out by the Huelva Fencing Club throughout the year."

the Councillor for Sports, Health, and Consumption
The councillor has extended an invitation to the public to attend the event, emphasizing fencing as a "spectacular, exciting, and full of technique and strategy" discipline that promises a highly engaging sports day for residents and visitors alike.
For his part, the technical director of the event expressed gratitude for the institutional support, highlighting the importance of hosting such a high-level event for the organizing club. He stressed that the épée is considered the most complete weapon in fencing, where strategy and teamwork are crucial.

"The tournament will bring together teams from all over Andalusia in a team épée competition, a particularly demanding modality both technically and strategically, as the épée is probably the most complete weapon in fencing, where every decision counts and where teamwork makes the difference."

A high level of competition is expected, given that Andalusia boasts highly prepared clubs. In addition to the competition, the event aims to foster coexistence and the exchange of experiences among participants, contributing to the growth of the sports community. The participation of local fencers represents an added motivation, as they can compete and represent Huelva in their own city.
