With over four decades in music, Hombres G maintains its original lineup, comprising David Summers (vocals and bass), Javi Molina (drums), Dani Mezquita, and Rafa Gutiérrez (guitars). This summer, the group will return to Andalusia with their “Los mejores años de nuestra vida” tour, making a stop at Plaza de España in Seville on July 3, as part of the Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest.
The tour will also include concerts at Recinto Ferial El Arenal in Córdoba on June 19, Marenostrum in Fuengirola on August 1, Concert Music Festival in Sancti Petri on August 12, Recinto Ferial de Almería on August 22, and Plaza de Toros de Granada on September 19.
In addition to the tour, the band will premiere a biographical film, sharing the tour's title, next Friday. A new album is also set to be released by the end of the year. The band's guitarists, Dani Mezquita and Rafa Gutiérrez, have shared insights into the band's distinctive sound and the creative freedom they have achieved after more than 40 years in the industry.
“"Seville's Plaza de España is the only square known throughout all galaxies."
Both musicians emphasized the guitar's importance in Hombres G's sound, describing it as a “guitar-driven” group since its inception. They highlighted that the combination of their individual styles creates a unique sound that sets them apart. The energy at their concerts, they explained, is a blend of the band's own and the audience's, which helps them maintain their vitality on stage.
Regarding their success and longevity, the guitarists noted that the key has been the freedom to pursue what they love, without external pressures. They believe that success has allowed them to be more liberated and fully enjoy their work, leading them to declare that they are living “the best years of our lives”.
“"A Hombres G man is a happy guy who chose music, and life has rewarded him by saying: 'Okay, you're going to do it.'"
