A new heatwave will affect the province of Seville, with scorching days and maximum temperatures not dropping below 40 degrees for approximately one week. The situation is expected to continue until next Wednesday, according to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Nights will offer no respite either, as minimum temperatures will remain around 25 degrees, making it difficult to sleep without cooling systems. Yellow and orange alerts are expected in various parts of the province.
Temperatures have been rising since last Wednesday. Aemet's forecast indicates that on Friday and Saturday, maximums in the capital will reach 41 degrees, triggering a orange alert. Nighttime lows will hover around 25 degrees, potentially exceeding 30 degrees by dawn.
Sunday is predicted to be the hottest day, with a maximum temperature that could reach 42 degrees, possibly the highest of the year. Health authorities recommend extreme caution, especially for children, the elderly, and the sick, advising constant hydration and avoiding outdoor activities during the central hours of the day. Sunday night will be tropical, with lows of 24 degrees.
In some towns such as Lora del Río, Burguillos, or Gerena, temperatures could reach 43 degrees, triggering a red alert. In Osuna, the predicted low is 26 degrees.
Only some areas of the Sierra Morena of Seville, such as Alanís or Guadalcanal, will record slightly lower temperatures, between 38 and 39 degrees.
A slight decrease is expected by Wednesday, when maximum temperatures will be around 39 degrees. This change will cause alerts to be reduced to yellow, and nighttime lows will drop to 22 degrees, offering a small relief.
