With the investiture chapter closed and the agreement between the PP and Vox finalized, the XIII legislature in Andalusia is poised to resume its parliamentary activity. The initial matters to be addressed include the composition of the Parliament's Board and the appointment of senators for the autonomous community.
The current composition of the Parliament's Board, which includes representatives from the PP and the PSOE, is provisional. Following the signing of the agreement between the PP and Vox, it is expected that Vox will assume the first vice-presidency, currently held by Ana Mestre (PP). This will necessitate a reorganization of the body, with potential departures of current PP members to make way for Vox representatives.
The Parliament's Board is expected to meet next week to organize internal affairs. Concurrently, once the new structure of the Regional Government of Andalusia and the organization of its departments are known, parliamentary commissions will be launched and their representatives appointed.
The Parliament must also establish a calendar for plenary sessions. Although August is a non-working month, a plenary session is anticipated in July, likely around the third week, once the government is fully appointed. This session will also be the occasion to appoint senators for the autonomous community, a position for which the PSOE spokesperson, María Jesús Montero, is already positioning herself, and for which all parties will need to designate their own candidates.
