The Council of Ministers has approved the declaration of 13 zones in Andalusia as affected by a civil protection emergency, following forest fires registered in the autonomous community. Among the affected localities is Pinos del Valle, which suffered a fire last weekend that necessitated the confinement of its residents and burned approximately 200 hectares.
In addition to Pinos del Valle, the Executive has included incidents in Alosno, Villanueva de Castillejos, Almonaster la Real, and two in Cerro del Andévalo (all in Huelva); Guillena (Seville), Santa Elena (Jaén), Grazalema (Cádiz), Estepona-Benahavís (Málaga), Los Gallardos (Almería), Archez (Málaga), and Cerro Muriano (Córdoba).
In accordance with Law 17/2015 on the National Civil Protection System, the agreement includes a series of aid measures for those affected from the moment the emergency occurred, managed by the Ministry of the Interior. These aids are intended to alleviate personal damages, material damages to homes and belongings, expenses of local corporations, and industrial, commercial, and service establishments.
Furthermore, the possibility of an exemption from fees from the Autonomous Body Central Traffic Directorate (Jefatura Central de Tráfico) is foreseen, such as duplicates of circulation or driving permits, as well as de-registrations of damaged vehicles, and the issuance of National Identity Documents (DNI).
