The initiative, driven by the Provincial Council of Huelva, various town councils, and the Andalusian Basketball Federation, aims to bring this sport to all corners of the province. The official presentation was attended by the provincial sports deputy, Juan Daniel Romero, and the vice president of the Andalusian Basketball Federation and provincial delegate in Huelva, José Luis Pena.
The summer calendar includes four events in July: Cartaya (July 10), La Antilla (July 18), Islantilla (July 22), and Punta Umbría (July 23). In August, the circuit will visit Palos de la Frontera (August 2), Isla Cristina (August 13), Moguer (August 21), and Aljaraque (August 29). The competition will conclude in September with events in Villanueva de los Castillejos (September 12) and Cortegana (September 26).
Juan Daniel Romero, Deputy of Sports, highlighted the federation's and its monitors' efforts to expand basketball, noting that this circuit broadens its geographical reach beyond the traditional coastal municipalities, extending to regions like Sierra and Andévalo. Romero pointed out that this expansion is facilitated by the development of about ten basketball schools throughout the academic year.
Meanwhile, José Luis Pena, provincial delegate of the Federation, emphasized the consolidation of the 3x3 circuit as a way to provide continuity to the season and maintain activity during the summer months. Pena announced that the events will take place in the afternoon and evening to mitigate high temperatures and stressed that the circuit is open to all ages, prioritizing fun and a good atmosphere.
