The AVE high-speed train service in Malaga returns to normal this Friday, July 17, after five months of disruptions due to a landslide in the Álora section. From February until April 30, passengers had to use alternative road transport to Antequera to continue their train journey.
The reopening of the second track, which was expedited to restore normal service to the province, will allow Renfe to reinforce its connections with Madrid during the high season. The government's deputy delegate, Javier Salas, highlighted the "enormous scale" of the work carried out by Adif in a few months to repair the damage caused by the heavy rains in February.
Renfe has announced that two additional daily frequencies will be added on Fridays and Sundays during the summer period, bringing the total to eight services. Tickets for this new schedule are now available.
