Andalusian startup DynamicsVR has completed a funding round of 1.3 million euros. The investment saw participation from Easo Ventures, Fundalogy, Capital Cell, and Axon Desarrollo Andalucía, through the R&D&I Portfolio Fund. This fund, managed by Axon Partners Group Investment, is supported by the Regional Government of Andalusia and the European Investment Bank to promote research, development, innovation, and digitalization within the community, under the Feder funds framework.
These funds will be used to accelerate the brand's international expansion into Europe and North America, as well as to strengthen its commercial and clinical teams. The operation will also enable the company to finalize the development of its technology, expand its solution portfolio with new applications for lower limb pathologies, and integrate telemedicine capabilities.
With its registered office in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz), although a significant portion of its activity is concentrated in Seville, DynamicsVR specializes in virtual reality-based rehabilitation solutions for treating musculoskeletal pathologies, chronic pain, and neurological damage. The project is led by Carol Guerra, CEO and co-founder; Fernando Morales, CPO and co-founder; and Karol García, CTO.
The company's technology is already implemented in over 150 hospitals, clinics, and labor mutual insurance companies across Spain. Its platform is designed to integrate into routine clinical practice without altering the workflows of healthcare professionals.
DynamicsVR's approach is based on a clinical model that considers the biopsychosocial model of pain and utilizes immersive environments as a therapeutic tool. The objective is to influence pain perception from the brain to achieve faster functional recovery and improve patient adherence to treatments.
In the realm of musculoskeletal pathologies and chronic pain, the company claims to have reduced patient treatment time by approximately 35%, particularly for common conditions like lower back, neck, or shoulder pain. This reduction could lead to cost savings for healthcare facilities and help alleviate waiting lists.
Concurrently, DynamicsVR is developing a specific line of neurological rehabilitation for patients with upper limb impairment following a stroke. This solution has been advanced in collaboration with San Ceciclio and Virgen de las Nieves University Hospitals, as well as with the University of Granada and the University of Almería. The project is in its final clinical validation phase and aims to enhance home-based therapy.
The company has also recently received funding from the Vanguard Health PERTE for the development of new solutions for lower limb rehabilitation in acute stroke patients. This project, combining artificial intelligence and virtual reality, is being carried out in collaboration with the AI R&D area of the University of Granada and the Andalusian Institute of Brain Health.
Previously, DynamicsVR was selected for state-funded calls by the State Research Agency (AEI) and the National Innovation Company (Enisa). It also received a prior investment of 250,000 euros from Demium Capital's Think Bigger Fund I and Easo Ventures.
The influx of new health and technology-focused funds comes amid growing pressure on healthcare systems and the need to optimize hospital resources. DynamicsVR aims to consolidate its international presence and promote immersive rehabilitation as a standard tool in hospitals and clinics.
