The operation, named Irak-Gemelos, was carried out in three phases and has clarified the activities of this criminal network based in the province of Seville, which distributed narcotics across various points in Andalusia.
The investigation began after receiving information about the existence of a family group primarily dedicated to heroin distribution, operating in provinces such as Jaén, Córdoba, and Seville. During the initial stages, agents seized a significant amount of heroin in the province of Jaén, which allowed the investigation into the main family nucleus responsible for distribution to progress.
The investigated individuals often used third parties, many with addiction problems, for drug transportation to hinder their direct link to the seized substances. This complicated surveillance efforts, which eventually led to the location of the main suspect and the properties allegedly used for illicit activities.
In the first phase, one man was arrested, and nearly two kilograms of heroin, along with cutting agents, were seized. A second phase led to the arrest of another man in the province of Córdoba, with more heroin and small quantities of other narcotics being confiscated.
Finally, in the last phase of the operation, four searches were conducted at residences in the Sevillian town of Dos Hermanas, where the main suspect was arrested. Overall, the operation resulted in the seizure of over two kilograms of heroin, 500 marijuana plants, various quantities of MDMA, cutting agents, and a short-barreled firearm.
