The Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Cordoba has been ordered to include night and holiday bonuses in its staff's extraordinary payments. The decision, issued by the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of Instance of Cordoba, supports the judicial claim led by the CSIF union, which had previously been denied by the management of the public entity, dependent on the Provincial Council of Cordoba.
The judicial resolution states that work on Sundays and holidays is part of the regular working hours for the Consortium's personnel. Therefore, including this bonus in extraordinary payments does not reward an exceptional service but acknowledges the usual and ordinary monthly service provision.
The CSIF Section at the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters has emphasized the significance of this ruling, noting that "it recognizes a right for professionals that, until now, was being violated by the management."
“"Work on Sundays and holidays is part of the regular working hours for the Consortium's personnel, so including this bonus in extraordinary payments does not reward an exceptional service outside of their normal working hours, but rather it is part of the usual and ordinary monthly service provision."
The CSIF union recalls that it was the sole union to initiate legal proceedings to claim this payment, based on a prior ruling by the Supreme Court that set a precedent. The organization anticipates that similar judicial resolutions will be published soon and urges the Consortium's management to implement them as quickly as possible.
