The 19th 'Antonio Guzmán Tacón' Night Race will light up Dos Hermanas on Saturday, June 27th. The event, organized by the Orippo Athletics Club with support from the City Council's Sports Delegation, has seen a successful turnout, selling out the 750 offered bibs. Athletes from various Spanish provinces, including Seville, Málaga, Huelva, Granada, Cádiz, Córdoba, Guipúzcoa, Castellón, and Madrid, will gather for this occasion.
The official race route covers 8.250 kilometers through an urban circuit designed along the city's main streets. The start is scheduled for 10:30 PM from the Plaza de la Constitución. Participants will run through streets such as Santa María Magdalena, Antonia Díaz, Canónigo, El Ejido, Portugal, Cristo de la Veracruz, Brasil, the Glorieta Comunidad Autónoma de Extremadura, Real Utrera, and Santa Ana, before heading towards the finish line located in the Plaza del Arenal. The itinerary includes a partially repeated section to complete the distance.
Out of the 750 registered runners, 408 are residents of Dos Hermanas, highlighting the event's local roots. Female participation has also been notable, with 148 women registered. To ensure the event's safe execution, a security detail will be deployed, comprising 30 Local Police officers, 15 Civil Protection personnel, and over a hundred volunteers. Additionally, three liquid refreshment stations will be available along the circuit, with a fourth at the finish line.
