Since its inception in 1992, Biomol, headquartered in Seville, has transitioned from a biotechnology distributor to a manufacturer of reagents and solutions for precision medicine. This modernization and growth process, initiated in 2021, has been driven by new shareholders and the appointment of Rafael Estévez as CEO, as explained by Ángel Alcalde, president and founding partner, and Estévez himself.
“"At Biomol, we are distinguished by our proximity, responsiveness, and direct involvement in projects."
The company has maintained a dual focus, working in both research and clinical fields, collaborating with institutions such as CSIC, IBIS, various universities, and reference hospitals like Virgen del Rocío and Reina Sofía. This strategy has allowed them to understand the real needs of the sector and offer specialized technical support, a value-added service compared to large multinationals.
Biomol's expansion is not limited to Andalusia and Extremadura, where they already have a strong presence. Over the past four and a half years, they have extended their activities to regions such as Madrid, Catalonia, Galicia, the Basque Country, and the Levante area. Furthermore, they are developing an Iberian strategy with a presence in Portugal and are considering future expansion into Latin America and North Africa.
Biomol's commitment to Andalusian science is evident in initiatives such as the inauguration of a biomedical research laboratory in collaboration with Universidad Loyola Andalucía in Seville, through the Biomol Institute Foundation. They also support the Scientific Dissemination Awards at centers like CABD, CABIMER, and IMIBIC, highlighting the region's high scientific standard.
“"The growth of Biomol and the growth of the social environment in which we operate is the objective of our organizations, with the Chamber of Commerce being the gear that makes this action possible."
Recently, Biomol joined the Club Cámara of the Seville Chamber of Commerce, a relationship they hope will boost their project by facilitating dialogue and collaboration within the Andalusian business fabric.
