The competition, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Cádiz and the Andalusian Sailing Federation, is part of the regional calendar and will award crucial points for the Andalusian Snipe class Ranking, as well as for the formation of Andalusian teams for the 2025-2026 seasons.
The racing program includes a maximum of six races, with up to three heats scheduled per day. For the competition to be considered valid, at least one heat must be completed, according to the event's regulations.
Among the notable participants is the crew of Ángel Ballesteros and Sonia Hidalgo, current Andalusian Ranking champions, who are competing aboard the AP Motril-Costa and bring experience from national and international competitions.
The fleet will also feature Álvaro Ballesteros and Javier Ballesteros, sailing the Halifa IX, along with representatives from the Real Club Marítimo de Huelva, Club Náutico El Trocadero, Club Náutico Puerto Sherry, and the Naval Regatta Commission, among other entities.
The Snipe class has a significant tradition in the Bay of Cádiz, and the Real Club Náutico maintains an active fleet. The event will serve to gather sailors from various categories, from veterans to young talents in the regional circuit.
Weather forecasts suggest stable conditions for the races, although wind intensity will be a determining factor. The trophy award ceremony is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, after the conclusion of the scheduled heats.
