According to data from the Continuous Population Statistics, published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the region has reached 8,758,481 inhabitants, representing a significant increase from the previous year and widening its lead over Catalonia, the second most populous community.
The population growth in Andalucía is primarily attributed to the rise in foreign-born residents, with an additional 13,220 people in the last quarter, bringing the total to 1,230,748. In contrast, the Spanish national population experienced a slight decrease of 1,321 people during the same period.

On the other hand, Córdoba and Huelva were the only provinces that registered a slight decrease in their number of inhabitants.
The province of Sevilla has surpassed two million citizens, reaching 2,000,510 as of April 1, 2026. Regarding the foreign population, Málaga and Almería stand out for having the highest number of residents born outside Spain, representing 25.09% and 26.34% of their total population, respectively.
