These subsidies, managed by the Ministry of University, Research and Innovation, are aimed at key institutions within the Andalusian knowledge system. Beneficiaries include universities, public research organizations, and centers or foundations linked to R&D and innovation in Andalucía.
The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) on March 31, seeks to fund initiatives that generate new knowledge or improve existing scientific theories. Projects must be submitted electronically and will be resolved under a competitive bidding process, requiring entities to be accredited as agents of the Andalusian knowledge system.
Funds will be distributed across five main scientific-technical areas. For Biology and Biotechnology, 2.45 million euros are allocated, with a maximum of 120,000 euros per project. Exact and Experimental Sciences will have two million euros, with a limit of 80,000 euros per initiative. The areas of Social, Economic and Legal Sciences, as well as Humanities and Artistic Creation, will each receive 1.80 million, with a cap of 60,000 euros per project. Finally, Natural Resources, Energy and Environment will receive 1.60 million euros, with a maximum of 80,000 euros per work. The minimum grant per project has been set at 25,000 euros.
Approved projects will have an execution period of 30 months, with the possibility of extension up to 36 months. Funding can cover up to 100% of the total activity cost, representing significant support for selected proposals. Research teams, led by a doctor, may include predoctoral, postdoctoral staff, and technical support personnel.
The call allows for both individual projects and coordinated initiatives, with up to six research teams participating. Collaboration between entities and knowledge exchange will be particularly valued. Eligible expenses include salaries, staff mobility, acquisition of scientific equipment, bibliographic material, software, industrial property rights, and access to scientific infrastructures.
