These funds, published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía, are aimed at Andalusian universities, organizations, centers, institutes, and foundations specialized in R&D+i. The objective is to promote initiatives framed within five key strategic areas for regional development.
The priority areas include smart, resilient, and healthy society; agrotechnology; natural resources (with an emphasis on mining and the water cycle); leading industries; and ecological transition. The aim is to foster sustainable and competitive solutions, especially in the circular economy and adaptation to climate change. These incentives are co-financed by the Andalucía FEDER 2021-2027 Program and will be granted under a competitive bidding regime.
The application period runs from April 20 to May 19. It is an essential requirement that applicant entities are previously qualified as agents of the Andalusian knowledge system. Selected projects must be executed within a period of 18 to 24 months.
The call distributes funds across nine scientific-technical areas, with specific allocations. For example, the Agri-food and Food area has 3.30 million euros, with a maximum of 300,000 euros per project. Health Sciences and Techniques, along with Natural Resources, Energy, and Environment, each have three million euros. Information and Communication Technologies, as well as Production and Construction Technologies, receive the largest allocations, with 3.80 million euros in each field.
Research teams must be led by a doctor and may include predoctoral, postdoctoral staff, and technical support. Individual or coordinated projects are allowed, with cooperation from up to six teams. Funding can cover up to 100% of the activity cost, including salaries, mobility expenses, equipment acquisition, and service contracting.
