The Regional Ministry of University, Research and Innovation has compiled data indicating that 957 students from Huelva, who have completed Bachillerato or Higher Vocational Training, will participate in the extraordinary PAU exam. Across all of Andalusia, the total number of students is 15,665, an increase of 14.47% compared to the previous year. Of this Andalusian total, 5,795 are men and 9,870 are women. Among those registered, 10,840 had already taken the ordinary exam, with 3,395 retaking it to pass and 7,445 to improve their scores.
The extraordinary edition maintains the same exam model as the ordinary call, featuring a more competency-based approach and common correction criteria for all autonomous communities. An increase in the 20-25% range for these types of questions is anticipated, although percentages will vary by subject, following guidelines from the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE). Furthermore, spelling, grammar, and lexical correctness will be assessed in all exercises to evaluate students' expressive abilities, with greater penalties for linguistic subjects.
Each exam will last 90 minutes, with a minimum 30-minute break between tests. Evaluations will commence at 8:30 AM each day, with students required to be present at their reference center by 8:00 AM. The exams are divided into two phases: the access phase, mandatory for university admission, and the admission phase, voluntary for score improvement. The access score will be calculated by weighting 40% of the PAU score and 60% of the Bachillerato academic record, requiring a minimum of 5 points for admission.
The most in-demand subjects for this extraordinary call include Applied Mathematics to Social Sciences II, Spanish Language and Literature II, and English. Alternative schedules have been established to resolve timetable incompatibilities between subjects. The results will be published on July 9th on the websites of the Andalusian public universities, with the application period for university places opening until July 14th.
