The project, which represents an investment of 600,000 euros, will provide approximately 60 parking spaces. The works involved the demolition of existing structures and the removal of asbestos, supporting the municipal plan to eliminate this material from the city.
The new facility covers 1,700 square meters and includes improvements to accessibility and traffic reorganization around Montellano and Curro Guillén streets. This initiative is part of a broader mobility strategy that includes other projects in neighborhoods such as La Harinera, Almocábar, and San Cristóbal.
Additionally, the council is working on a parking area near the train station on land leased from Adif, which will offer 207 spaces. Other areas like Prado street and Campo del Nene already have similar facilities, while a large underground parking project is planned for the former La Concepción military barracks.
