The municipal delegate for Youth, Jorge Fernández, described the response to the latest proposals of the 'Verano Joven 2026' program, promoted by the City Council, as very positive. He highlighted the high participation in the night opening of the Manolo López municipal pool, which attracted nearly 600 young people, including those under 15 accompanied by parents and the majority aged between 15 and 25.
Fernández described the evening as a "healthy atmosphere," enlivened by music and food service provided by the Fundación Asprodisis through the Centro Ícara. He also emphasized the positive reception of the first canyoning activity, held at the Sima del Diablo in Júzcar, which allowed participants to enjoy this adventure sport safely.
The program will continue this Wednesday, August 5, with a giant water slide on calle Andrés Aguilar Gracián, next to San Rafael Park. The activity, which will start an hour earlier, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, due to high demand last year, recommends bringing one's own float. Additionally, two inflatable water castles will be set up for younger children in the park.
The adventure offerings will be complemented on Friday, August 7, with a second canyoning session at La Buitreras, in the Guadiaro River. Those interested in participating in these activities can register via email.
