The Santa María la Mayor Church in Ronda is opening its bell tower to the public during the 'Noche en Blanco' this Friday the 10th, requesting oil donations for the 'El Buen Samaritano' collective.

The Church of Santa María la Mayor in Ronda will offer a unique opportunity to visit its bell tower, an area usually closed to the public, as part of the activities for the ‘Noche en Blanco’ (White Night) celebration this Friday the 10th. The initiative, aimed at fostering citizen participation and solidarity, requests an oil donation in exchange for entry.
The municipal delegate for Culture, Rebeca Muñoz, along with the parish priest Francisco Sánchez and the president of the association ‘El Buen Samaritano’, Juan Luis de la Rosa, detailed the proposal. The councilwoman highlighted the great reception of this activity and its charitable nature, as the donated products go to the association's food bank, which supports the most vulnerable individuals.
Muñoz thanked the parish priest and the association for their collaboration, inviting citizens to enjoy all the events planned for the ‘Noche en Blanco’. For his part, Sánchez recalled that the church will also remain open, offering the bell tower climb as a special opportunity to view the temple from a different perspective.
The donation for accessing the bell tower will be oil or a monetary contribution, both intended to help ‘El Buen Samaritano’. De la Rosa, the association's president, emphasized the importance of this ongoing collaboration with the parish and the Culture department, noting that despite fluctuations in the price of oil, every liter donated represents significant aid for the association.
