The national health spokesperson for Vox has expressed concern over the "critical" situation faced by both healthcare professionals and patients at the center. According to the spokesperson, this situation is due to "disastrous health management by the Moreno Bonilla Government and the massive and illegal arrival of immigrants that saturates our healthcare system".
The Vox representative stated that the Poniente University Hospital is being used as an "illegal immigrant hostel", based on testimonies from patients and workers who claim that immigrants have been living in hospital rooms "for years". This situation, according to the spokesperson, is "not only irregular, but also regrettable" and demonstrates the "state of abandonment by the Moreno Bonilla Government towards the people of Almería".
“"The diagnosis presented by these supposed patients is that of social admissions, not following any criteria for hospitalization."
Furthermore, a Vox representative for Almería in the Andalusian Parliament, recalled the figures for surgical and outpatient waiting lists. According to data from June 2025, 31% of surgical waiting lists exceed 180 days, and 71% of outpatient consultations exceed 60 days, with an average delay of 153 days. In primary care, 73% of patients wait more than 60 days, with an average of 160 days.
The representative concluded that the current management has not only replicated previous health policies but has also imitated practices of concealing waiting lists, noting that the last published list corresponds to June 2025.
