The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, has visited the construction site of the future Sierra de Gádor-Valle de Vícar Interpretation Center, which is progressing well. Bonilla expressed his enthusiasm for the transformation of the space, which will soon become a meeting point for science, innovation, and research.
This visit coincides with the start of the patron saint festivals of Villa de Vícar, featuring activities such as the Ascent to Cristo de la Salud and the Tomás Parrilla Memorial. This year's festivities will witness the evolution of this emblematic site into a new cultural and social reference point, intended to showcase the past, foster culture, and unite the community.
The project, with a budget exceeding one million euros, is part of the PAI for the Modernization of Vícar and receives co-financing from ERDF Funds. The design includes a state-of-the-art, two-story building covering approximately 617 m². It will house reception and information areas, an audiovisual room, an exhibition hall, a multipurpose room, and a terrace with views of the Sierra de Gádor.
The PAI ‘Vícar, Green City’, is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Multi-regional Operational Program for Spain ERDF 2021-2027.
