These actions, framed within the Destination Sustainability Plan, aim to transform bathing areas to make them more inclusive and environmentally friendly. The new shade zones have been strategically placed in locations such as La Ventilla, La Romanilla, and Playa Serena, adding to those already present in other parts of the municipality.
The renovated spaces feature adapted equipment that facilitates beach enjoyment for people with reduced mobility, including accessible walkways, rest areas, and adapted services. These improvements are complemented by the installation of new recycling bins and over a kilometer of sustainable walkways, which are currently being installed to optimize waste management and accessibility.
Furthermore, in the coming weeks, the accessible restrooms located on the promenades will be renovated. All these interventions are part of the actions planned within the Destination Tourist Sustainability Plan, funded by European funds, and reinforce the municipal commitment to consolidate Roquetas de Mar as a modern, accessible, and environmentally respectful tourist destination.
