Primark has announced that its establishment in Roquetas de Mar is among the eleven stores in Spain slated for renovation. This initiative is part of a broader investment exceeding 85 million euros for the Iberian Peninsula, with 40 million specifically allocated to Spain, which also includes the opening of a new store in Talavera de la Reina.
The Roquetas de Mar store, which opened on November 28, 2013, at Parque Comercial Gran Plaza, was Primark's inaugural outlet in the province of Almería. Its renovation holds particular significance for the region, as it was one of the most notable commercial openings in Andalucía that year, spanning over 3,000 square meters and initially employing 133 workers.
Planned enhancements for the Roquetas de Mar location include the introduction of self-checkout kiosks, an optimized redistribution of commercial space, and a new image consistent with Primark's most modern concept. The aim is to provide customers with a more convenient and efficient shopping experience.
Five years after its opening in Roquetas de Mar, in October 2018, Primark expanded its presence in Almería with a second store in the capital, situated in Centro Comercial Torrecárdenas. This establishment, covering over 5,100 square meters across two floors and creating 150 jobs, featured an advanced format with rest areas, free Wi-Fi, and charging stations.
“"This investment reflects confidence in these markets and a long-term commitment to Spain and Portugal, underscoring the desire to continue offering an exceptional shopping experience."
The modernization of the Roquetas de Mar store will not only benefit consumers but also strengthen the position of Parque Comercial Gran Plaza as a key commercial hub in the Poniente Almeriense and throughout the province.
