The new Market of La Gangosa, in Vícar, is close to becoming a reality after the works were awarded in the last Local Government Board. This action aims to improve energy efficiency and revitalize the space as a meeting point and center of social life.
The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, highlighted the importance of this step for the recovery of cultural and community spaces. The works, financed by European Funds through the Integrated Action Plan of Vícar (PAI), have an investment of 532,690.40 euros and will last eight months after the signing of the Site Survey Act.
The comprehensive renovation seeks to create modern, efficient, and innovative facilities. The space will be reorganized to be more accessible and versatile, keeping the central square as the heart of the market. The main entrance will be moved to the south facade, creating a wider and more visible access.
The rehabilitation will include a complete renovation of the market's facilities with more efficient and sustainable systems to improve energy consumption, comfort, and building maintenance. The PAI ‘Vícar, Green City’, co-financed by the European Union under the Multi-regional Operational Program of Spain FEDER 2021-2027, promotes sustainable urban development.
