The festive calendar of Vícar continues this summer with the celebration of the patron saint festival in honor of San Cirilo in the El Parador area. The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, has encouraged residents to enjoy these days of rest.
The festival program kicks off on Friday with children's activities such as the traveling balloon and throwing challenges in the morning, followed by an afternoon snack and a 'crazy board' game at the El Parador Socio-Cultural Center. Saturday and Sunday will feature highlights like the Color, Water, and Foam Festivals for children, a midday fair, and traditional games such as ribbon and egg races.
On Saturday afternoon, at 8:00 PM, there will be a floral offering to the patron saint and a solemn mass at the Hermitage of San Cirilo, accompanied by the Coro Rociero A Nuestro Aire. The night will conclude with the coronation of the King, Queen, and the Child Lady, and the first popular dance at 10:30 PM with the Orquesta Fábula Show in Plaza de San Cirilo.
Sunday will begin early with a walking marathon and a neighborhood breakfast. After traditional games for the youngest attendees, midday will feature a communal rice dish for everyone. The day will conclude with the traditional Romería starting at 8:00 PM and the second popular dance, enlivened by Dúo Reencuentro from 11:00 PM in Plaza de San Cirilo.
