The initiative, approved by the local government board, aims to recover the former bus station building, constructed in the late 1990s, to turn it into a cultural landmark. The project covers a total area of 3,200 square meters and is estimated to have an execution period of 12 months.
The design of the future library takes advantage of the natural light, high ceilings, and spacious open-plan areas of the property. It will be distributed over several floors to house various functions: the basement will be allocated for municipal bands and archives, the ground floor will concentrate the main activity with consultation and work areas, and the upper floor will offer a quiet environment for study.
The new cultural space will feature reading, study, work, computer, and play areas. The design prioritizes a modern and welcoming image, using materials such as wood and ensuring functionality and accessibility. Facilities, restrooms, and facades will be renovated, incorporating new glazing and solar control elements to improve efficiency and comfort. Furthermore, accessibility will be guaranteed with adapted routes and an elevator, reinforcing the inclusive nature of the building.
