The VeraneArte 2026 program, promoted by the Youth Department of the Vícar City Council, has concluded with the participation of a total of eighteen young people from the municipality. This initiative, aimed at minors between 12 and 16 years old, offered two weeks of technological disconnection, fostering new friendships and the creation of artistic works.
The summer campus took place in the mornings between June 29 and July 10 at the Casa de la Juventud y el Deporte (Youth and Sports House). During this period, participants engaged in workshops, games, sports activities, traditional crafts, and circus arts, promoting a different kind of summer focused on coexistence, learning, and fun.
The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, praised the young people's "creativity, enthusiasm, and involvement," calling VeraneArte a success since its first edition.
Participant feedback has been very positive, highlighting the variety of activities and the shared experience. Among the offerings were workshops on crafts, ceramics, esparto weaving, traditional Almerian art, games, group dynamics, and circus arts, all aimed at enhancing creativity, communication, and teamwork.
VeraneArte also provided a valuable option for family work-life balance for Vícar residents. The program was based on the philosophy of learning through play, dedicating specific time slots to creative activities, collective games, and dynamics for individual skill development.
