The Las Cabañuelas Municipal Pool in Vícar has marked the end of the second session of its intensive summer swimming courses. A total of 80 students participated in the closing event, held last Friday the 7th, where they performed an exhibition for family and instructors and received their diplomas.
The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, attended the event and congratulated the participants on their learning, encouraging the newest swimmers to continue refining their technique in future sessions. The courses are offered in categories such as benjamin (ages 2-5), child (ages 6-10), and youth (up to 14), aiming to accommodate various skill levels.
With the conclusion of this second session, 160 children have now completed classes this edition, with an additional 40 expected in the coming weeks. The mayor highlighted the positive reception of the activity, organized by the Ayuntamiento de Vícar, which has become one of the most popular summer programs in the municipality.
The mayor, accompanied by the councilors for Sports, Vanesa Lidueña, Francisca Hernández, and Encarnación Martínez, emphasized the importance of these courses for learning to swim or improving swimming styles, utilizing the holiday period. The next intensive swimming session has already begun and will run until August 28th.
