The city of El Ejido has inaugurated its 49th Theater Festival with a vibrant gala that brought together various personalities and the general public. The event served to acknowledge the support of institutions such as the Diputación and the Junta de Andalucía, as well as sponsors, whose collaboration is essential for the realization of this cultural event.
The ceremony began with a lively performance at the entrance of the Auditorium, where eight circus artists, including acrobats and stilt walkers, offered a visual and dynamic show. In the lobby, attendees could enjoy a photo booth, a one-man band, a digital caricaturist, and a silhouette artist, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere.
“"Culture is an element of progress, cohesion, and community building. In its broadest sense, it begins with the knowledge of our history, roots, and customs, but it also involves education, science, and reading, which help us better understand the world."
The main gala, hosted by actors Noemí Ruiz and Antonio Garrido, featured the inaugural show Todo lo posible, by the company Nueveuno. This contemporary circus proposal combined highly precise juggling, perfectly synchronized choreographies, live music, and meticulous lighting and video projection design, captivating the audience.
The festival, running from May 1st to 30th, will offer nearly 80 activities including theater, humor, music, dance, contemporary circus, urban shows, and family-friendly proposals. The lineup features renowned national and international figures, reinforcing the event's commitment to artistic quality.
As a novelty, ‘NomadArt’ is introduced, an experimental proposal that will transform a container into an avant-garde stage with innovative shows. Additionally, morning sessions for children are scheduled on Saturdays, along with a wide range of street performances, reaffirming theater as an emblem and driver of cultural, tourist, and economic development for El Ejido.
