Over the three days of celebration, the municipality saw the participation of more than a thousand registered specimens across various competitive and exhibition modalities. The fairgrounds and the Ochavada Square served as the nerve centers for an agenda featuring over fifty activities.
This edition was notable for its technical focus, acting as a qualifying round for the Spanish Championship in canine morphology competitions, supervised by the Costa del Sol Canine Society. A new feature this year was the granting of the Certificate of Aptitude for the Championship (CAC) for pointing dogs in group seven. Additionally, the Andalusian Hunting Federation organized a scoring event for the Podenco League.
Technical activities were complemented by specialized conferences on breeds such as the Ratonero Bodeguero, Water Dog, Presa Canario, and Andalusian Podenco, focusing on their dissemination and appreciation. The Canine Unit of the National Police of Málaga and the Canine Unit of the Civil Guard performed high-level demonstrations for the public, alongside workshops on canine education and hunting training.
The program also included displays of hunting packs, water retrieving exhibitions, water dog diving, and burrow work with ferrets. On the commercial side, dozens of specialized exhibitors from the canine and hunting sectors occupied the venue, making the event a direct economic driver for the municipality of Archidona.
The event, declared a Tourist Singularity Festival by the Málaga Provincial Council, concluded with the presentation of the ‘Archi de Oro’ award in Ochavada Square, recognizing the best specimens from all participating breeds. The fair successfully met its objectives for attendance and promotion of Archidona's cultural and gastronomic heritage.
