The incident occurred around 1:00 PM when the coordinating center of the 112 Andalusia Emergency Service received reports of the vessel, which was transporting a vehicle, falling onto the road. The event took place at kilometer 78 of the A7, heading towards Almería, near a speed camera where drivers often brake suddenly. According to witnesses, a sudden stop may have caused the watercraft to detach from its trailer and fall onto the roadway, hitting at least two of the four involved vehicles. The car transporting the watercraft sustained damage to its front windshield.
Fortunately, the accident resulted in no personal injuries. The emergency service dispatched the Civil Guard Traffic unit and road maintenance personnel to the scene to manage the incident and regulate traffic.
The watercraft's overturn occurred in the central lane of the highway, forcing its temporary closure. The Malaga Traffic Management Center of the DGT indicated that the obstruction on the road caused two kilometers of traffic jams heading towards Almería, on the outskirts of the Costa del Sol's capital. Traffic was expected to return to normal soon due to the efforts of the emergency crews.
