The financial entity Unicaja has unveiled two key projects to drive its technological modernization: a technology hub in Malaga and a new data center in Madrid. These initiatives are part of its 2025-2027 Strategic Plan and aim to adapt the entity to the demands of the financial sector.
The total planned investment for these actions amounts to approximately 250 million euros. The objective is to enhance systems, data governance, and establish a robust technological infrastructure to support future business growth. The strategy combines the development of capabilities in artificial intelligence and data analysis with the strengthening of existing infrastructures.
The future technology hub will be located at the Andalusia Technology Park (PTA) in Malaga, with an opening scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. It will accommodate up to 200 professionals and will focus on innovation, artificial intelligence, and data management, driving digital solutions applied to financial business.
The hub building, designed by zityhub under the direction of architect Ángel Serrano, will foster collaboration and the creation of new work environments, integrating open spaces and co-creation areas.
In parallel, Unicaja will develop the project Atlas, which redefines its technological infrastructure model. This project, to be rolled out in phases until mid-2028, will improve operational resilience, business continuity, and system protection.
As part of the Atlas project, a new data processing center will be installed in Madrid, featuring high standards of availability, redundancy, and processing capacity to meet the technological needs arising from business growth and facilitate the deployment of new digital tools.
