The event occurred around 8:00 AM on Saturday when a taxi driver was maneuvering to park in the designated taxi area. During the operation, the vehicle's steering wheel unexpectedly locked, causing the car to leave the roadway. The taxi first hit a bollard and, after this initial impact, continued its trajectory until it collided with a bench.
An elderly woman was sitting on the bench at the time of the impact. The force of the collision caused her to fall to one side, although fortunately, she only sustained minor scratches and was not seriously injured. The taxi driver also escaped unharmed.
The incident, which could have had much more serious consequences, ultimately ended up being a scare, with material damage to the vehicle and affected street furniture.
Medical personnel quickly arrived at the scene to attend to those involved and assess the situation. The incident highlights the importance of exercising extreme caution in the circulation and parking areas of the airport, especially in spaces with high passenger and pedestrian traffic.
