This procedure, essential for taking the PAU exams, is managed independently by each of the nine public academic institutions in Andalusia. The UMA is among the first to set its deadlines, while other Andalusian universities have also announced their registration periods.
The Selectivity exams will take place in the community on June 2, 3, and 4 for the ordinary call, and between June 30 and July 2 for the extraordinary call. In 2025, a total of 65,613 students registered for both editions, representing over 20% of the students taking the exam nationwide, according to data from the Junta de Andalucía.
Both Bachillerato students and those from Higher Level Training Cycles, who only take the Admission Phase, can apply for these tests. The registration process is online and requires prior registration to obtain a user account on each institution's virtual campus. Applicants must select their subjects and pay fees, which may include exemptions for large families, disabilities, or being a victim of gender violence or terrorism.
Other Andalusian universities have also set their calendars: the University of Almería from May 14 to 26, the University of Cádiz from May 18 to 26, the University of Córdoba from May 19 to 27, the University of Granada from May 18 to 22, the University of Huelva from May 18 to 26, and the University of Jaén from May 11 to 26. The Pablo de Olavide University has set its deadline between May 12 and 25, while the University of Seville opened its period on May 4 and will close it on the 25th of this month.
Students can consult orientation documents and past exam papers from previous calls on the Distrito Único Andaluz (DUA) portal to prepare. The Ministry of University, Research and Innovation aims to guide students on the new competency-based approach of the test, which includes common grading criteria for all autonomous communities.
Starting from the 2027/2028 academic year, the treatment of Mathematics in calculating admission scores for certain degrees will change. In careers where Mathematics II and Applied Mathematics to Social Sciences II are weighted with the maximum coefficient (0.2), only the more favorable of the two scores will be considered, along with another distinct subject. This measure will affect 35 degrees, primarily in Health Sciences, Sciences, and Social and Legal Sciences, aiming for better alignment between student profiles and the demands of study plans.
